![]() I think your software has all the features that I am interested in and genuinely want in a playback software, and if you could legimately make in-roads with how it navigates, transitions, etc. ![]() Do not some make it some moronic VJ BS where something has to be playing no matter what in order for it to function properly. If you're going to make a cue based playback software, make it truly cue based where it's able to jump around a cue list, start/stop as needed etc. These items are pretty essential in corporate/live theater environments and really any video playback software needs to have buttery smooth transitions, flexible navigation, etc. But they also felt that in general the transitions were not smooth even when going between two videos that were already playing, and they got the impression that the software didn't really like jumping around in a cue list in comparison to the other industry standards. The biggest reason being that transitions were not smooth going from a video that was stopped on its last frame into another video. ![]() I had my team try your software and they got frustrated pretty quickly with it. One recent example, the company had made a corny 'music video' of the staff for an internal meeting, one exec came up during the show and wanted to poke fun at the dancing skills of another exec in the video in a couple of clicks I made a copy of the clip on a new layer, set it to loop bouncing, picked an in-point and out-point of about three seconds of the video so he looked appropriately goofy muted the audio from the looping clip, reduced the opacity of the original video to zero (but kept the audio up, so the song played normally off of the original music video), and triggered the whole thing, playing the song and sending the looping dancing exec to the screens, to much laughter.and I've barely spent the time to know enough to scratch the surface of the software! Yes, it comes from the DJ/VJ side of things but it's a quite capable piece of playback software.and allows you to simply do things that would be rather tricky in other software. I would love something that has the multi-screen capabilities of Pro Video Player, but was a lot more reliable and robust. So I was curious if there's any other software out there that is both reliable and feature-rich for use in a live production environment. I've also done performance tests on the same machine, using the same media, across the above mentioned software, and Qlab was the quickest to drop frames, etc. The problem that I have with it is that it's a little inflexible and quick to setup in last minute situations. The best balance between professionalism and feature-set that I've found. My problem with it is that it always feels buggy and unreliable to me, and when I've used it I've had not one but two backup systems in place because I really don't trust it. Its interface is more streamlined than Pro Presenters', it's very powerful with its multi-screen capability. I love this software for what it can and should be. It also feels and seems less reliable than Playback Pro (find myself restarting it more than I want to because it starts to bug out at a certain point). More feature rich than Playback Pro, but since it comes from a house of worship background it isn't the most professional looking, and I personally find its interface to be a little convoluted. They had mentioned a 64-bit version several years ago and now its nowhere to be found. Pretty much the industry standard, I like its simplicity and reliability, but they have major problems keeping the software up to date with Apple OS releases and it's a little light on feature-set nowadays. So I've been doing video for quite a while and I was curious if there are any video playback software alternatives that I am not thinking of.
